What are Mandalorian Clans?

In Mandalorian culture, families are known as clans, each organized under a specific “house” or political faction. Every clan has its own rules, traditions, and a distinct symbol to represent them. Mandalorian clans can form alliances or rivalries with other clans. In this article, we will explore all known Mandalorian clans in both canon and Legends.

1. Clan Vizsla

Clan Vizsla was a Mandalorian clan active during the eras of the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire. Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi and the creator of the Darksaber, served as the Mand’alor of the Mandalorians before the fall of the Old Republic.

During the Clone Wars, his descendant, Pre Vizsla, led Death Watch, a Mandalorian splinter faction opposing the planet’s pacifist government. Pre Vizsla successfully took over Mandalore, becoming Mand’alor and Prime Minister, but was soon killed by the rogue Sith Lord Maul.

In the Mandalorian Civil War against the Galactic Empire and Clan Saxon, Clan Vizsla supported Bo-Katan Kryze of Clan Kryze. Alongside Clan Eldar, Clan Rook, Clan Wren, the Journeyman Protectors, and other allies, they helped Bo-Katan become the new Mand’alor.

2. Clan Wren

Clan Wren was a Mandalorian clan that served as a vassal to House Vizsla. Led by Countess Ursa Wren, the clan included her husband Alrich Wren, their son Tristan, and their daughter Sabine. The clan was comprised of Mandalorian warriors who wore traditional Mandalorian armor.

During the Imperial Era, Clan Wren initially sided with the Imperial-aligned Clan Saxon. However, in 2 BBY, they led an insurrection against Clan Saxon and the Empire during the Mandalorian Civil War. A notable member of Clan Wren, Sabine, joined the rebellion.

By the end of the Galactic Civil War, all members of Clan Wren, except for Sabine, had been killed during the Night of a Thousand Tears.

3. Clan Kryze

Clan Kryze was a Mandalorian clan that belonged to House Kryze. Based on Kalevala, it was a group of Mandalorian warriors led by Bo-Katan Kryze during the Imperial Era. After the Great Purge of Mandalore, the clan was significantly weakened but continued under Kryze’s leadership.

Members of Clan Kryze wore Mandalorian armor with blue, white, and yellow color combinations. During the Siege of Mandalore, a smaller faction of Clan Kryze aided Ahsoka Tano and a segment of the 501st Legion in retaking Mandalore. Years later, a member of the clan pledged allegiance to Bo-Katan alongside members of Clans Eldar, Rook, Vizsla, and Wren, enabling her to become Mand’alor.

4. Clan Saxon

Clan Saxon was a Mandalorian clan under House Vizsla’s umbrella. Under the leadership of Gar Saxon, they governed the planet Mandalore with the backing of the Galactic Empire. Following Gar Saxon’s death at the hands of Ursa Wren, a civil war erupted between Clan Saxon and Clan Wren.

Aside from their conflict with Clan Wren, Clan Saxon also incurred the wrath of House Kryze by betraying and overthrowing them in favor of the Empire.

Many Mandalorians, such as Fenn Rau of the Mandalorian Protectors and Sabine Wren, viewed Clan Saxon as traitors to Mandalore. They accused the Saxons of selling out their planet to foreign rule and betraying Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, who was widely considered the rightful ruler of Mandalore. After Gar’s death on Krownest, his brother, Lord Tiber Saxon, assumed the role of Governor and spearheaded the conflict with Clan Wren and the Nite Owls.

Tiber, having abandoned any semblance of loyalty to his heritage, deployed “the Duchess” against Clan Wren when they allied with the Rebels to reclaim Mandalore. The weapon targeted and superheated the beskar alloy in Mandalorian armor, incinerating the wearer, which was considered an abomination as beskar armor was integral to Mandalorian culture.

In response, Sabine, who had been unknowingly coerced into designing the weapon during her Academy days, led a joint force of Mandalorians and rebels to infiltrate Saxon’s Star Destroyer at Sundari and destroy “the Duchess” before it could be used again.

However, this was a trap set by Tiber, who aimed to capture Sabine and force her to enhance the weapon’s range and capabilities. He confronted her on the ship, torturing her, Bo-Katan, and even his loyal subordinate Captain Hark to compel her cooperation. Sabine used this opportunity to recalibrate the weapon to target the Imperial’s plastoid armor instead of beskar. Hark escaped before Wren overloaded the Duchess’ power core, causing it to explode and destroy the Star Destroyer, along with Tiber and all aboard.

5. Clan Fett

Clan Fett was an ancient Mandalorian lineage dating back to the Mandalorian Wars. The clan’s name comes from the Basic transliteration of “vhett,” the Mando’a word for farmer.

One of the earliest known members of the Fett clan was Cassus Fett, a Human Mandalorian who gained infamy as Mandalore the Ultimate’s second-in-command in the Mandalorian Neo-Crusader movement that initiated the Mandalorian Wars with the Galactic Republic.

Throughout history, members of Clan Fett varied from simple farmers to formidable Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, and included many mercenaries and bounty hunters.

By the time of the Sith–Imperial War, the Fett clan members were renowned for their skill and ruthlessness in battle. Clan Fett was also recognized for its collective efforts to benefit and uplift the Mandalorian people.

Notable members of Clan Fett include Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Cassus Fett, Vorten Fett, and Khomo Fett.

6. Clan Mudhorn

Clan Mudhorn was a Mandalorian clan established during the New Republic Era, consisting of the bounty hunter Din Djarin and his Force-sensitive apprentice, Grogu. The clan’s signet, the skull of a mudhorn, was given to them by the Armorer of the Tribe as a reference to the mudhorn they killed on Arvala-7.

Despite periods of separation, Din always considered Grogu a Mandalorian foundling, and Grogu eventually chose to leave his Jedi training to reunite with Din. Together, they have continued their adventures, with Din teaching Grogu the ways of the Mandalorians.

7. Clan Rook

Clan Rook was a Mandalorian clan active during the reign of the Galactic Empire, known for their allegiance to House Kast. The clan operated primarily as a vassal, supporting House Kast’s interests and taking on various missions to uphold their standing. Unlike other clans that were deeply involved in large-scale battles and politics, Clan Rook specialized in bounty hunting, taking on high-risk assignments for substantial rewards​.

Members of Clan Rook were recognized for their agility and cunning in battle, traits symbolized by their signet—a black and orange bird. The clan’s armor featured purple, yellow, and silver hues. Despite their controversial status, with some questioning their true Mandalorian heritage due to their criminal activities under the leadership of Tayari Rook, Clan Rook managed to maintain a reputation for combat proficiency and tactical prowess in their bounty hunting operations​​.

Although primarily focused on bounty hunting, Clan Rook did partake in significant Mandalorian events. In 1 BBY, a member of the clan pledged their allegiance to Bo-Katan Kryze during the Mandalorian Civil War, aligning with other clans to resist the Galactic Empire’s control.

8. Clan Ordo

Clan Ordo was a renowned Mandalorian clan that ruled the planet Ordo in the Mandalore sector under the authority of their leader, Mandalore, the supreme ruler of the Mandalorians.

The most renowned member of Clan Ordo was Canderous Ordo, who fought in the Great Sith War, Mandalorian Wars, Jedi Civil War, and the Dark Wars.

Canderous Ordo accompanied Revan during the Jedi Civil War and later, following Revan’s orders and in the interest of his people, reunited the Mandalorians under his banner as Mandalore. Between 3954 and 3951 BBY, Canderous returned to the former Mandalorian headquarters on the Onderonian moon Dxun and began to reunite and rebuild Clan Ordo.

After the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, when Jicoln Cadera rebelled against the Sith-favoring reign of Mandalore the Vindicated, Clan Ordo was among the clans that rallied to Cadera’s side. Although Cadera and his clan’s movement were eventually defeated, Clan Ordo was later accepted back by Mandalore. Clan Ordo also helped train the Ewok bounty hunter Treek on Nar Shaddaa.

During the Mandalorian Civil War, Clan Ordo’s members were divided among the New Mandalorians, the True Mandalorians, and the Death Watch.

During the Galactic Civil War, the spy known as Bloodletter owned a pair of Mandalorian pistols that were said to have belonged to the patriarch of Clan Ordo.

By the time of the Sith–Imperial War, Chernan Ordo held the title of Mand’alor. During the conflict, Ordo was hired by the Galactic Alliance to defend the planet Botajef from an impending attack by the forces of the Fel Empire until the Alliance’s fleet could arrive. However, the fleet never arrived, and Ordo perished as his forces were overrun. Fellow Mandalorian Yaga Auchs, who had betrayed Ordo by sabotaging their communications, usurped the title of Mand’alor and withdrew the Mandalorians from the conflict.

9. Clan Skirata

Clan Skirata was a Mandalorian clan that included Munin Skirata and his adopted son, Kal Skirata. Kal’s wife and biological children left him, and his sons later disowned him through a Mandalorian custom that brought great dishonor to him. Despite this, Kal still considered them his sons.

In 19 BBY, just before the end of the Clone Wars, Kal Skirata adopted Omega Squad, the Nulls, and former Jedi Bardan Jusik as sons in accordance with Mandalorian tradition.

During the concluding battles of the Clone Wars, members of Clan Skirata broke Ruusaan Skirata, Kal’s long-estranged biological daughter, out of a Republic detention facility and brought her back into the clan. Days after the war ended, Kal also adopted the wives and families of his sons, including Darman’s Jedi wife, Etain Tur-Mukan, posthumously, as accepted by Mandalorian culture.

Kal began expanding Clan Skirata on Coruscant, but at the end of the war, they were forced to flee the Republic army and retreat to Kal’s remote and hidden farm, Kyrimorut, on Mandalore, near where Munin had raised him. Later, a member of the clan, Jaing Skirata, saved Mandalore Boba Fett’s life by curing Fett’s ailing health, a result of his clone nature.

10. Clan Eldar

Clan Eldar was a Mandalorian clan active during the reign of the Galactic Empire. In 2 BBY, following a mission carried out by Clan Wren, Clan Kryze, and members of the Rebel Alliance during the Mandalorian Civil War, Clan Eldar, along with other clans, pledged their allegiance to Lady Bo-Katan Kryze, thereby joining the Mandalorian resistance against the Galactic Empire.

Clan Eldar was composed of Mandalorian warriors who wore armor featuring black, dark green, and orange color combinations. Their signet depicted the face of a leonid creature.

In the New Republic Era, some members of Clan Eldar were part of the Children of the Watch, and their signet appeared on a flag when Ragnar swore the Mandalorian Creed.

11. Clan Awaud

Clan Awaud was a Mandalorian clan active before the New Sith Wars. Aga Awaud, a Mandalorian mercenary, returned to Mandalore in 1058 BBY to find his clan mostly wiped out. This loss, coupled with the need for Mandalorian defense against raiders, prompted Aga to rally Mandalorians to defend their space, initiating the movement known as the Return.

In 1051 BBY, Aga became Mand’alor, taking the title “Mandalore the Uniter,” and led his people into a new era of resurgence.

Hundreds of years later, during the Mandalorian Civil War, Clan Awaud’s support was divided among the New Mandalorian, True Mandalorian, and Death Watch factions. The clan’s chieftain, Nam Beroya, uninterested in the internal politics, left Mandalore with like-minded clan members.

During the Clone Wars, Clan Awaud worked as mercenaries for the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Hutts. Eventually, Nam Beroya led them to Vlemoth Port, where they established the settlement of Arumorut and allied with the Talz of the Gnaaz tribe. By the start of the Galactic Civil War, Clan Awaud had over eight hundred members at Arumorut.

12. Clan Varad

Clan Varad was a Mandalorian clan renowned for their formidable strength and combat skills. Under the leadership of Mavrix Varad, the clan engaged in aggressive tactics, striking targets on both the Republic and Sith sides. This rebellious nature led them to even steal a Republic ship to plunder planets in the Outer Rim, showcasing their readiness to engage in piracy​​.

Mavrix Varad’s personal clash with Mandalore the Vindicated resulted in Varad’s betrayal of the Mandalore. This act positioned Clan Varad against both the Republic and the Sith, ultimately leading to their downfall as combined forces were sent to destroy them. Despite their demise, the internal conflicts and power struggles within Clan Varad were reflective of the turbulent nature of Mandalorian history​.

Centuries after their initial rise and fall, the influence of Clan Varad resurfaced during the Mandalorian resistance against the Galactic Empire. Shyla Varad, a descendant, fought valiantly in the siege of their homeworld of Mandalore, showcasing the enduring warrior spirit of the clan. Although the clan’s numbers had dwindled, their fierce independence and martial prowess left an indelible mark on Mandalorian culture and lore​.

13. Clan Beviin

Clan Beviin was a Mandalorian clan existing during the Yuuzhan Vong War. Goran Beviin and Medrit Vasur, two male Mandalorians, married and lived together on the Beviin-Vasur farm near Keldabe, Mandalore’s capital. While Vasur worked as a blacksmith, Beviin took on bounty hunting to supplement their farming income. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Beviin fought alongside the Mandalorian Protectors under Mand’alor Boba Fett, and after the death of fellow Mandalorian Briika in battle, he adopted her daughter, Dinua Jeban​​.

After the war ended and the Yuuzhan Vong were defeated, Dinua Jeban continued to live with her adoptive parents on their farm. She eventually married Mandalorian soldier Jintar, and they had two children, a boy named Shalk and a girl named Briila. By the time the Second Galactic Civil War broke out between the Galactic Alliance and the Confederation, the Beviin clan had welcomed Mand’alor Fett to stay with them at their farm. This arrangement helped Fett reconnect with the Mandalorian culture and people he had been estranged from for much of his life​​.

The Beviin-Vasur farm served as a symbol of Mandalorian resilience and community, blending traditional farming with the fierce warrior ethos. Goran Beviin’s dual roles as a farmer and a warrior, and the family’s hospitality toward Fett, underscored the clan’s commitment to Mandalorian values and their adaptability in times of peace and conflict​​.

14. Clan Vevut

Clan Vevut was a small Mandalorian clan that played an important role during the Second Galactic Civil War. Known for their resilience and strong family ties, the clan was characterized by its dedication to Mandalorian traditions and warrior culture. One of their prominent members, Novoc Vevut, raised Ghes Orade, an orphaned neighbor’s son, who would later marry Mirta Gev, the granddaughter of Boba Fett​​.

The clan’s legacy is closely tied to their strong sense of community and mentorship. Novoc Vevut’s decision to raise Ghes Orade exemplifies the Mandalorian value of adopting and nurturing those in need, reflecting the clan’s commitment to fostering strong warrior bonds and maintaining their cultural heritage. This practice of adoption and integration strengthened Clan Vevut’s influence and helped them remain resilient during turbulent times​​.

During the Second Galactic Civil War, Clan Vevut’s members continued to uphold their warrior ethos, participating in various battles and supporting Mandalorian interests. Their close connection with prominent figures like Mirta Gev and her relationship with Boba Fett further cemented their place in Mandalorian history.

15. Clan Bralor

Clan Bralor was an ancient Mandalorian clan originating from the Mandalorian Wars. Their roots were in the hill-fort town of Norg Bral on the Outer Rim world of Mandalore. During the Mandalorian Civil War, amidst the Third Galactic War, Clan Bralor betrayed Mandalore the Avenger and aligned with the Hidden Chain, attacking Port Nowhere alongside other defectors from Shae’s cause.

Notable members of Clan Bralor include:

• Bralor: A respected Mandalorian warrior and the champion of Battle Circle during the Dark Wars. Unlike many of his more aggressive peers, he respected the Jedi and studied them extensively to understand and best them in combat. Even after being defeated by the Jedi Exile, Meetra Surik, he gained respect for her.
• Jogo: Also known as Jogo the Carver, he was the son of Salus Bralor. Hotheaded and often calling Torian Cadera ‘arue’tal’ (traitor’s blood in Mando’a), Jogo made the mistake of insulting the Grand Hunt Champion and was killed as a result.
• Salus Bralor: The father of Jogo the Carver, Salus was equally hotheaded. He confronted the Grand Hunt Champion who killed his son, only to meet the same fate.
• Cantis Bralor: He led the strike force that assaulted Port Nowhere during the Mandalorian civil war between Mandalore the Avenger and Heta Kol.
• Rav Bralor: Among the Mandalorian elite hired by Jango Fett to train the Clone army, she trained the Clone Commando Squads, Vevut Squad, and Yayax Squad. After her training duties, she returned to Mandalore to help maintain Kyrimorut. She was present when Etain Tur-Mukan’s body was brought back and prepared it for cremation.
• Neth Bralor: By the time of the Second Galactic Civil War, Neth Bralor led Clan Bralor. During a meeting between clan chieftains, mercenaries, and heads of Mandalorian corporations to discuss Mandalore’s position in the war, Neth Bralor agreed with the current Mand’alor Boba Fett to remain neutral, focusing on rebuilding Mandalore after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

16. Clan Cadera

Clan Cadera was a Mandalorian clan active during the Great Galactic War and the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire. The clan was led by Jicoln Cadera and later his son, Torian Cadera.

When Mandalore the Vindicated allied the Mandalorians with the Sith, Jicoln Cadera opposed this decision, advocating for an alliance with the Republic, following the example of Mandalore the Preserver. This led to the Crusader’s schism, with Jicoln raising an army against Mandalore the Vindicated. His movement was defeated, and Jicoln was believed dead but had actually escaped into exile. The remaining clan members, mainly women and children, were reintegrated into Mandalorian society.

Torian Cadera, Jicoln’s son, was ashamed of his father’s actions and was often derided as “arue’tal” or “traitor’s blood.” Upon learning his father was alive on Taris, Torian and the Grand Champion of the Great Hunt sought him out. They engaged in a Geroya be Haran, a Mandalorian death game, where Jicoln was ultimately killed by Torian, who then removed the dishonor from Clan Cadera and joined the Grand Champion’s crew.

During the war against Zakuul, Torian became the chief of Clan Cadera and Mandalore the Avenger’s top scout, although few clan members remained.

17. Clan Deshra

Clan Deshra was a Mandalorian clan with a history spanning thousands of years. They were known for reverse-engineering alien technology to develop retribution feedback shields, which they sold to the highest bidder nearly a century before the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire’s conflict. During the war against the Eternal Empire of Zakuul, Clan Deshra supported Mandalore the Avenger, contributing significantly to the Empire’s defeat. Afterward, some members joined Mand’alor’s anti-piracy efforts, while others sought opportunities with the Republic or Sith Empire.

Nearly two millennia later, Mandalore was devastated by the Candorian plague and attacks from raiders. Mandalore the Uniter initiated the Return movement, calling Mandalorians to aid their home. Many from Clan Deshra returned, settling on Mandalore and Concordia, establishing farms and homes in Keldabe and northeastern Concordia.

By 77 BBY, Suvar and Jani Deshra owned a farm on Concordia. Their daughter, Edeema, left the farm to become a successful mercenary. In 49 BBY, she had a daughter, Ezgi, with Caul Itera, a New Mandalorian merchant. Ezgi lived with her father in Sundari to avoid conflicts with Death Watch. After her father’s death in a speeder accident when Ezgi was thirteen, Edeema fought the New Mandalorian government to regain custody, threatening war if they refused. Duchess Satine Kryze eventually returned Ezgi to Edeema, maintaining peace on Mandalore.

18. Clan Beroya

Clan Beroya was a Mandalorian clan active during the Galactic War, a conflict between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. Among its members were the married couple, Jos Beroya and Valk Beroya, who fought alongside Shae Vizla and her clan. The Beroyas trained with Vizla’s people on the Outer Rim world of Rishi, at their complex on Tracyn Island.

After the Mandalorian leader Mandalore the Vindicated fell in battle against the Eternal Empire, Shae Vizla succeeded him as Mand’alor. Assuming the title “Mandalore the Avenger,” Vizla rallied the Mandalorians against Zakuul, and Clan Beroya joined her for a raid on the Empire’s factories on Darvannis.

Thousands of years later, Clan Beroya had established ties with Clan Awaud. The veteran soldier Nam Beroya eventually led Clan Awaud as its chieftain, from before the Clone Wars to the early days of the Galactic Civil War. After Nam was believed to have died in battle against a group of Zygerrian slavers, his adopted daughter Vera Beroya succeeded him as Clan Awaud’s new chieftain.

19. Clan Carid

Clan Carid was a Mandalorian clan residing on Mandalore during the Second Galactic Civil War. Baltan Carid, a Mandalorian soldier and mercenary, led the clan and represented it at a meeting of the Mandalorian clans with the reigning Mand’alor, Boba Fett, at MandalMotors Hall in 40 ABY.

In response to Fett’s call for two million offworld Mandalorians to return to their cultural homeworld—an effort to boost the planet’s population following the devastation caused by the Yuuzhan Vong War—Baltan offered his clan’s services to ensure that the unused farmland left behind by deceased owners would be allocated to new arrivals interested in farming.

By early 41 ABY, as Mandalorians returned to Mandalore from across the galaxy, Clan Carid fulfilled Baltan’s promise by redistributing the fallow land to new owners, revitalizing the agricultural sector.

20. Clan Chorn

Clan Chorn was a Mandalorian clan that existed during the invasion of the galaxy by the Eternal Empire. When Mandalore the Avenger united the clans for an assault on the Eternal Empire’s droid factory on Darvannis, Clan Chorn was among those that supported her.

Clan Chorn was introduced in Star Wars Legends through the game “Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire”. The clan appeared in Chapter XIV, Mandalore’s Revenge, where players faced a choice to either sacrifice or save Clan Chorn when they were surrounded by Skytroopers.

21. Clan Farr

Clan Farr was a Mandalorian clan that fought against Jedi Knight Revan during the Mandalorian Wars when the Mandalorians invaded the Galactic Republic.

During the Cold War, they resided on Dromund Kaas, the Sith Empire’s capital, and allied with the Order of Revan, a renegade Sith cult that followed Darth Revan’s teachings and believed he had secretly replaced the Emperor. To challenge themselves in battle, they hunted the beasts in Dromund Kaas’s forest.

During the war against Zakuul, Yenko Farr and his three sisters fought alongside Mandalore the Avenger in the Raid on Darvannis but were killed during the assault on the Droid Factory.

22. Clan Gedyc

Clan Gedyc was a Mandalorian clan that became divided following the rise of the peaceful New Mandalorian faction after the Mandalorian Excision. Some members supported the pacifist sect, while others aligned with the traditional warrior clans. Eventually, those who allied with Death Watch gained dominance in the clan and strengthened ties with Clan Vizsla.

By 19 BBY, Lorka Gedyc had risen to lead Death Watch, a radical Mandalorian splinter faction that sought to revive the Mandalorians’ ancient warrior ways. Under Lorka’s leadership, Death Watch allied with the newly established Galactic Empire, helping to establish an Imperial presence on Mandalore.

Around this time, the clan returned to the moon of Zanbar, converting the old Death Watch camp into their new headquarters, which eventually grew into a small city named Loriya after their leader. Unlike Clan Saxon, Clan Gedyc distanced themselves from the Empire’s fight for Mandalore early enough to avoid the other clans’ wrath, successfully hiding out on Zanbar.

Around 1004 ABY, Varlon Gedyc, the clan’s chief, declared allegiance to the Mandalorian Revenant. Clan Gedyc was one of the few clans unanimous in their support during the Third Mandalorian Civil War. Some members even served the Warmaster directly aboard his flagship, the First, and it is rumored that the second Revenant-class Battleship, the Conqueror, was intended for Clan Gedyc.

23. Clan Ha’rangir

Clan Ha’rangir was a Mandalorian clan that fought for the Hidden Chain around 3626 BBY. They participated in the defense of the Hidden Chain’s base on Ruhnuk during the Showdown on Ruhnuk.

Clan Ha’rangir was founded by Mandalorians who believed their people were being weakened by cowardice and inaction. They initiated a bloody conquest known as Ha’rangir’s Path in 3732 BBY. Their early victories inspired many raids and occupations, amassing significant resources and wealth. By the time of the Mandalorian Wars centuries later, Clan Ha’rangir was considered a wealthy and influential group within Mandalorian society.

The clan’s empire-building reached its height in the 3600s but began to decline as newer generations avoided the front lines, preferring instead to manage and expand their wealth. Once formidable conquerors, the clan’s power shifted from military might to economic dominance, leading to increasing arrogance.

Mandalore the Avenger did not recognize Clan Ha’rangir’s demands for respect based on their status, offending the clan and prompting them to join the Hidden Chain. The clan’s chieftain, Kur Ha’rangir, harbored his own ambitions, conducting experiments on several Basilisk War Droids to create more powerful versions, even at the cost of dismantling others.

When his actions were discovered by the Tra’tade, Shae’s followers, they were appalled. Led by Lane Vizla, the Tra’tade thwarted Kur’s operations and drove him off-world. The Mandalorian Tra’tade subsequently gained possession of the left-behind Basilisk War Droids.

24. Clan Itera

Clan Itera was a Mandalorian clan that existed after the Mandalorian Wars. When Jicoln Cadera rebelled against the Sith-favoring rule of Mandalore the Vindicated, Clan Itera was among the clans that supported Cadera. Despite the defeat of Cadera and his followers, Clan Itera was accepted back by Mandalore and remained a respected part of Mandalorian culture.

Clan Itera was introduced to Star Wars canon in ” Star Wars: The Old Republic”, developed by BioWare and released on December 20, 2011.

25. Clan Jeban

Clan Jeban was a Mandalorian clan active during the time of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Members of Clan Jeban were recognizable by their shared red armor color scheme and a clan sigil featuring a black saber etched on the chest plate.

In 24 ABY, thirteen-year-old Dinua Jeban completed her verd’goten, the traditional rite of passage marking adulthood in Mandalorian society. With her father deceased, Dinua and her mother, Briika Jeban, traveled together seeking mercenary work to support themselves. They met fellow Mandalorian Goran Beviin at the Bar Jaraniz on Nar Shaddaa, forming a close friendship through a series of jobs for the mysterious individual known as Udelen, who was actually the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong agent Nom Anor.

When the Yuuzhan Vong fleet appeared before the Mandalorians at a staging area in the Outer Rim, a fearful Briika asked Beviin to take in Dinua if anything happened to her, a request to which Beviin solemnly agreed.

After Anor revealed the Yuuzhan Vong’s intentions for the galaxy to Mand’alor Boba Fett, the Mandalorians entered into a false alliance with the Vong. Officially, they worked for the invaders while covertly subverting their campaign and gathering intelligence for the New Republic. While passing information to the Jedi New Republic Intelligence agent Kubariet on New Holgha, the Mandalorians encountered Yuuzhan Vong Subaltern Bur’lorr.

During the skirmish, Briika was fatally stabbed in the chest by one of the spikes on the Vong warrior’s Vonduun armor. Despite all efforts to save her, Briika died from blood loss. Honoring her wishes, Dinua was adopted by Beviin, becoming part of his clan.

26. Clan Jendri

Clan Jendri was a Mandalorian clan active after the Mandalorian Wars. Following the defeat of Mandalore the Ultimate at Malachor V by Jedi Knight Revan, who then stole Mandalore’s Mask, many Mandalorian clans set out to recover the lost artifact.

By 3954 BBY, Clan Jendri’s search brought them to the snow-covered planet Rekkiad in the Outer Rim Territories. They established a territory around the Twin Spears mountain, patrolling it with their four Basilisk war droids.

In the same year, members of Clan Ordo entered Jendri’s territory in their own quest for Mandalore’s Mask. Clan Jendri engaged Clan Ordo for control of the area. Despite outnumbering Clan Ordo nearly two to one, Clan Jendri was defeated. Following their loss, Clan Jendri conceded the territory to Clan Ordo.

27. Clan Kelborn

Clan Kelborn was a Mandalorian clan that existed after the Mandalorian Wars. When Jicoln Cadera rebelled against the Sith-aligned rule of Mandalore the Vindicated, Clan Kelborn was among the clans that supported Cadera.

After Cadera and his followers were defeated, Clan Kelborn was accepted back by Mandalore and continued to be a respected part of Mandalorian culture.

Merrk Kelborn served as a Rally Master during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire and was often found at the Mandalorian enclave on the planet Dromund Kaas.

28. Clan Keldau

Clan Keldau was an ancient Mandalorian clan that existed during the Mandalorian Crusades. The clan gained significant recognition in Mandalorian culture due to the numerous combat trainers that came from its ranks, and it was identified by the iconic symbol of a mythosaur skull as its clan sigil.

Over time, Clan Keldau eventually died out, but its legacy endured. Tor Vizsla, the founder and leader of the radical Death Watch, acknowledged Clan Keldau’s historical significance in his manifesto, Ba’jurne Kyr’tsad Mando’ad.

29. Clan Lok

Clan Lok was a Mandalorian clan that existed before the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Artus Lok, a member of the clan, claimed the title of Mand’alor, the traditional leader of the Mandalorian clans, by challenging and killing the previous Mand’alor. During the Cold War, Artus, now known as Mandalore the Vindicated, welcomed the latest Grand Champion of the Great Hunt into Clan Lok, and the Champion gladly accepted.

During the Eternal Empire’s conquest of the galaxy, Clan Lok fought against the invaders but suffered heavy losses. Mandalore the Vindicated was killed in battle by swarms of skytroopers, leading to the clan’s scattering and the formation of a stigma against droids due to his death.

Eventually, the new Mandalore, Mandalore the Avenger, planned an assault on the Eternal Empire’s factory on Darvannis to rearm the Mandalorians. However, Mirli Lok disagreed with this plan, viewing it as dishonorable to wage war against mere droids and preferring to fight Zakuul directly.

Mirli convinced others to break away from Vizla’s leadership, forming the Ash’ad. They traveled to Onderon to hunt dangerous beasts for honor and glory but were slain by the Alliance Commander on Mandalore’s orders. The remnants of the Ash’ad, led by Durn Wynnward, integrated into the splinter faction known as the Hidden Chain.

30. Clan Lone

Clan Lone was a Mandalorian clan active during the Great Galactic War and the subsequent Cold War between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic. Around the time the Treaty of Coruscant was signed, Zadik Lone, a member of Clan Lone, fell in love with Akaavi Spar, a fellow Mandalorian.

Spar left her own clan to join Lone among his kin. However, tragedy struck when the Sith Empire betrayed and executed Spar’s clan. Spar urged Clan Lone to rally to her clan’s aid, in accordance with Mandalorian tradition, but the clan members refused to defy the Empire.

As a result, Spar ended her relationship with Zadik and severed all ties with Clan Lone to pursue those responsible for her family’s deaths. Clan Lone was dishonored due to their refusal to help Spar, and many of its members allied with Tayari Rook, the man who orchestrated Clan Spar’s downfall. When Akaavi Spar discovered Rook and his followers in an encampment on the planet Nal Hutta, she attacked and killed those who chose to fight instead of flee.

31. Clan Priest

Clan Priest was a Mandalorian clan that experienced internal division following the rise of the peaceful New Mandalorian faction after the Mandalorian Excision. Some members supported the pacifist sect, while others remained loyal to the traditional warrior clans.

When Mand’alor Jango Fett was selecting training sergeants for the clone commandos of the Grand Army of the Republic, Dred Priest was among the seventy-five Mandalorians chosen. Known for his violent and brutal methods, Priest believed that abusing the clone soldiers would make them tougher.

By 19 BBY, Dred Priest had joined the radical Death Watch group, along with his lover Isabet Reau. During an unexpected confrontation with fellow Mandalorian soldier Mij Gilamar in Keldabe, the capital city of Mandalore, Gilamar killed Priest due to his Death Watch affiliations. Priest’s body was then dumped into the Kelita River.

32. Clan Shale

Clan Shale was an ancient Mandalorian clan within the Mandalorian community. A feud arose with Clan Nerak, led by its new hotheaded leader Ballag, which escalated into open conflict when members of Clan Shale were murdered in cold blood by Clan Nerak in a bid to challenge the respected clan. This violence forced Arbiter Jekiah Ordo to intervene before the situation could worsen, especially amidst Mandalore the Avenger’s hunt for Field Marshal Heta Kol.

On the planet Geonosis, within one of the Mandalorian strongholds, Jekiah Ordo arranged a duel between Ballag and Arla Shale to resolve the dispute. He declared that the losing clan would face destruction. Despite the shocking terms, both sides accepted, adding a grave seriousness to the situation, reminiscent of Clan Cadera’s rebellion when a clan was last wiped out by Mandalorian hands.

During the duel, Ballag initially gained the upper hand by injuring Arla. However, Arla adapted and turned the tables, eventually having Ballag at her mercy. Instead of opting for Clan Nerak’s destruction or Ballag’s death, Jekiah and Arla agreed on a different arrangement to atone for the attacks on Clan Shale. As a result, Clan Nerak eventually fell apart, while Clan Shale remained loyal to Mand’alor’s reign.

33. Clan Sornell

Clan Sornell was a predominantly Devaronian Mandalorian clan that existed during the Mandalorian Wars. It consisted of the Mandalorian couple Koblus “Ko” Sornell, her husband Haarm, their son Gheedor, a younger daughter, and an infant child.

Clan Sornell rallied to the call of Mandalore the Ultimate, joining the Neo-Crusader movement as the Mandalorians aimed to conquer the Galactic Republic. By the height of the Mandalorian Wars, Ko Sornell had begun training her son Gheedor in the Mandalorian ways, taking him into combat with her atop a Basilisk war droid during the Battle of Essien.

The clan participated in the Mandalorians’ victory at Halthor. In its aftermath, Haarm Sornell and his daughter set up their family’s portable home, where they dined with the captured Jedi-turned-Mandalorian conscript Zayne Carrick and Republic naval captain Dallan Morvis. They then shipped out for Dantooine to capture the Jedi Enclave and the numerous Jedi younglings there. During the attack on Dantooine, Ko Sornell revealed that she was pregnant with another child.

34. Clan Spar

Clan Spar was a Mandalorian clan active during the Great Galactic War, serving as allies of the Sith Empire. They took part in the Sacking of Coruscant, where over a hundred battle-hardened commandos, including members of Clan Spar, fought in Galactic City.

During the battle, the clan suffered heavy casualties inflicted by Jedi Master Kellian Jarro. In response, the clan vowed to avenge their fallen members. However, before they could fulfill their oath, they were framed for crimes against the Sith Empire by the false Mandalorian Tayari Rook. Rook falsely accused Clan Spar of reneging on a contract to destroy Jedi transports, a contract that never existed. As a result, the Empire poisoned, captured, and executed the clan.

The sole survivor was Akaavi Spar, a female Zabrak Mandalorian who was away with a lover during the attack. Upon learning of the Empire’s betrayal, Akaavi sought help from her lover’s clan, Clan Lone, but they refused to aid her. Determined to avenge her clan, Akaavi teamed up with a rising smuggler. Together, they uncovered Tayari Rook’s actions and tracked him to Nal Hutta. Akaavi killed Rook and his criminal followers who didn’t flee, avenging Clan Spar’s downfall.

35. Clan Tal

Clan Tal was a Mandalorian clan. Aran Tal, a human who competed in the Hunters of the Outer Rim sporting competition, was the last surviving member of Clan Tal. The rest of the clan was killed by the Galactic Empire during the Night of a Thousand Tears. Aran Tal wore the clan’s ancestral armor.

36. Clan Tenau

Clan Tenau was a Mandalorian clan active during the Mandalorian Civil War, a conflict between the radical and violent Death Watch and the honorable True Mandalorians led by Jaster Mereel, while the peace-favoring New Mandalorians remained neutral. During this societal schism, members of Clan Tenau were divided, with individual clan members supporting each of the three factions.

37. The Tribe

The Tribe was a Mandalorian clan active in the years following the fall of the Galactic Empire. Notable members included Din Djarin, a female Mandalorian Armorer, and Paz Vizsla. The rest of the Tribe comprised several adults and children.

To minimize the risk of being discovered, only one member was allowed to be outside of the covert at a time. The Tribe belonged to the Children of the Watch, which Bo-Katan Kryze described as a cult practicing the archaic Way of the Mandalore. This practice, which had fallen out of favor in mainstream Mandalorian society, forbade members from removing their helmets in the presence of others, among other tenets.

38. Clan Werda

Clan Werda was an ancient Mandalorian clan founded during the first waves of Mandalorian crusaders. They initially settled on the snow-covered planet Werda in the Mandalore system. However, a massive civil war on Werda forced the clan to flee their icy home and resettle on Kalevala as part of House Kryze.

During the Great Clan Wars, Clan Werda was divided between warriors supporting the New Mandalorians and traditionalists seeking to preserve Mandalore’s martial traditions. By the end of the war, the clan was nearly annihilated, with only a few New Mandalorians surviving and settling in the city of Sundari. Naast Werda, who fought as a child soldier and was the last pro-war member of Clan Werda, joined thousands of traditionalists exiled from the Mandalore system as Old Mandalorians.

39. Esok’s clan

Esok’s clan was a clan of Mandalorian mercenaries active on Dantooine during the Dark Wars, seeking work. When Mandalore the Preserver traveled with the Jedi Exile, he attempted to recruit the clan for his quest to reunite the Mandalorian clans. However, Esok, the clan’s leader, refused to follow him and tried to take Mandalore’s Mask to become the new Mand’alor. Esok was subsequently killed, and the remaining members of the clan joined Mandalore the Preserver on Dxun.

40. Clan Rodarch

Clan Rodarch was a Mandalorian clan active during the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. Clan members were known for keeping asharl panthers and training them to fight alongside them in battle.

The warriors of Clan Rodarch took pride in the fearless and vigilant nature of the asharl panthers. Over time, the clan adopted the asharl panther as its mascot, painting their armor to resemble the creature’s pelts.

41. Clan Sharratt

Clan Sharratt was a Mandalorian clan composed of humans and Zabrak, led by Kaleesh warlords. They were active during the Cold War, a period of conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire.

During this time, Clan Sharratt tested a new Imperial combat adrenal and challenged the Republic defenders to face them in combat, threatening to destroy random Republic property on Nar Shaddaa if their challenge was ignored. However, they were defeated, their enclave was destroyed, and their leader, Kassor Quade, was killed. Years later, the clan became supporters of the Hidden Chain.

42. Clan Jennis

Clan Jennis was a Mandalorian clan that operated during the Cold War. Several Mandalorian warriors from Clan Jennis pursued a shipment of stolen goods.

Clan Jennis was introduced to the Star Wars canon through the multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
