Blue lightsabers are the most common lightsabers in Star Wars. They are associated with the jedi and the light side of the Force. George Lucas originally chose this color for practical reasons, aligning with scene environments and the rotoscoping technology of the time.
In this article, we will explore the meaning of blue lightsabers, explain the difference between them and green lightsabers, and finally discuss the most famous wielders of blue lightsabers.
What Does a Blue Lightsaber Mean?
The blue lightsaber represents a Jedi Guardian, signifying their role as a protector who utilizes the Force on a more physical level. It indicates their mastery in combat, where they confront evil head-on. The blue lightsaber means that the Jedi wielding it is committed to direct action and defense, standing in contrast to the red lightsabers of the Sith, which are a symbol of wickedness and rage.
A blue lightsaber is a symbol of qualities such as strength, loyalty, and determination. It embodies the essence of a Jedi Guardian, who is known for their courage in the face of adversity. Their willingness to confront darkness, often at great personal risk, signifies their dedication to the greater good and their commitment to defending the innocent. The color blue represents the Jedi’s sense of justice and unwavering resolve to maintain peace in the galaxy, reflecting their role as noble warriors who seek balance through protection rather than aggression.

The Difference Between Blue and Green Lightsabers
The color of a lightsaber blade reflects various aspects of a Jedi’s personality, skills, and connection to the Force. Blue and green lightsabers are among the most common, each representing distinct attributes and philosophies.
Blue Lightsabers
Jedi who wield blue lightsabers are more focused on combat and lightsaber training. They excel in lightsaber techniques and physical combat. Typically, blue lightsabers are associated with Jedi Guardians, who prioritize protecting the galaxy from dark forces. These Jedi often take on roles that involve direct confrontation with enemies.
Green Lightsabers
Jedi with green lightsabers tend to have a stronger focus on their connection to the Force. They emphasize wisdom, knowledge, and a deeper understanding of the Force’s mysteries. Green lightsabers are often associated with Jedi Consulars, who prioritize diplomacy, meditation, and the study of the Force. They seek to resolve conflicts through wisdom and negotiation rather than combat.

1. Anakin Skywalker

Anakin Skywalker was a Force-sensitive human male destined to bring balance to the Force as the Chosen One.
Born on Tatooine in 41 BBY, he was discovered by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and trained under Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anakin became a powerful Jedi Knight and general during the Clone Wars, known as the “Hero With No Fear.”
Despite his abilities, Anakin struggled with attachments, secretly marrying Padmé Amidala. Manipulated by Palpatine and fearing Padmé’s death, Anakin turned to the dark side and transformed into Darth Vader. He led the destruction of the Jedi Order and helped establish the Galactic Empire.
As Vader, he served as the Emperor’s enforcer for years until discovering his son Luke’s existence. This eventually led to his redemption during the Battle of Endor, where he sacrificed himself to save Luke and destroy the Emperor, fulfilling the prophecy of the Chosen One.
Anakin Skywalker wielded at least four lightsabers throughout his life.
- Anakin’s first lightsaber was constructed and used as a Padawan learner.
- He briefly used a fallen Jedi’s green-bladed weapon during the Battle of Geonosis.
- His second lightsaber was a blue-bladed weapon used throughout the Clone Wars.
- As Darth Vader, he constructed a new black-alloy lightsaber with a red blade.
Anakin Skywalker’s Blue Lightsaber (The Skywalker Lightsaber)
Like all lightsabers of the Jedi Order, Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber was powered by a kyber crystal housed in the core of its hilt. Similar to his previous lightsaber, this one emitted a blue, high-energy plasma blade due to the crystal’s connection with its original owner. The blade was contained within a “kyber-powered permeable suspension field.”
The hilt was twenty-eight centimeters long, cylindrical in shape, and constructed from alloy metal and carbon composites. Besides the kyber crystal, the Skywalker lightsaber included various components such as a power cell at the hilt’s base, an activation matrix, black rubberized grip ribbing, a ring tuning flange, a magnetic stabilizing ring and emitter, and a mechanism to adjust the blade length.
Its design allowed it to be wielded with the upper hand gripping the hilt for support while the lower hand directed the blade. It was also capable of functioning underwater.
2. Luke Skywalker

Luke Skywalker was a Force-sensitive human male, born in 19 BBY with his twin sister Leia. He is the child of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Senator Padmé Amidala. Luke became a Jedi Master and played a big role in the Galactic Civil War when the Galactic Empire was in power.
Luke and his friends Princess Leia Organa and General Han Solo fought for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, they aimed to defeat the Empire and restore democracy. After the war, Luke became a legend known as one of the greatest Jedi ever.
Luke Skywalker used at least three different lightsabers during the Galactic Civil War. The first one was his father’s former blue lightsaber, given to him by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Luke used it for three years before losing it, along with his hand, in a fight with Darth Vader on Bespin.
The second lightsaber he obtained was after visiting a Jedi outpost on Tempes. This one was a damaged yellow lightsaber pike that he repaired and used to fight enemies like Commander Ellian Zahra.
Finally, Luke built a new lightsaber with a green blade. He used this one to save his friends from Jabba the Hutt and in his last fight with Darth Vader.
3. Rey Skywalker

Rey Skywalker, known as Rey during the First Order-Resistance War, was a human female Jedi Master who fought for the Resistance. She started as a scavenger on the planet Jakku but her life changed dramatically during the last days of the New Republic Era.
Rey’s choice to help the droid BB-8 led her to discover the Force within her, prompting her to seek training from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. She trains as a Jedi, uncovers her mysterious origins and plays a crucial role in the Resistance’s fight against the First Order. Despite her dedication to the Jedi and the light side of the Force, Rey struggled with anger and felt drawn to the dark side, partly due to her conflict with Ben Solo, also known as Kylo Ren.
After Luke Skywalker lost the blue lightsaber when Darth Vader cut off his hand in Cloud City, the lightsaber ended up in Maz Kanata’s collection of Jedi artifacts. There, it called to Rey. She used it to defeat Kylo Ren, then took it to Ahch-To and offered it back to Luke. When he refused, Rey kept the weapon. The lightsaber was later destroyed in a clash between Rey and Kylo aboard the Supremacy, but Rey reconstructed it as she continued her Jedi training.
Rey’s reconstruction of the Skywalker lightsaber altered its appearance. She welded the two halves of the hilt back together, leaving weld marks in the middle. She also wrapped her leather wrist strap around the hilt’s center, including the refitted activation matrix, further binding the previously broken pieces. The once-broken kyber crystal remained inside, repaired through a Jedi technique performed by Rey.
4. Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a Force-sensitive human male Jedi Master who played a major role in the Clone Wars and was part of the Jedi High Council.
Known as “the Negotiator,” he fought against the Separatist Droid Army. However, when the Republic’s Chancellor, secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, ordered the Great Jedi Purge, Kenobi went into hiding.
Kenobi was born on the planet Stewjon and joined the Jedi Order as a child. He trained under Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and became a Jedi Knight after defeating the Sith Lord Darth Maul. He then promised to train Anakin Skywalker, believed to be the Chosen One destined to destroy the Sith.
During the Clone Wars, Kenobi became a High Jedi General, commanding large military forces. His old enemy Maul returned seeking revenge, but Kenobi continued to resist him despite great personal losses.
Kenobi ended the Clone Wars by killing General Grievous but was forced into hiding after Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side becoming Darth Vader. Kenobi defeated Vader in battle and went into exile on the planet Tatooine, watching over Anakin’s son Luke Skywalker.
Years later, Kenobi rescued Luke’s sister “Leia Organa” and confronted Vader and Maul again, ultimately killing Maul. He began training Luke in the ways of the Force but sacrificed himself to ensure Luke’s escape from Vader. In death, Kenobi continued to guide Luke through the Force.
Kenobi’s legacy lived on, influencing the fight against the Sith. He was remembered as a legendary Jedi Master, and even after his death, he helped in the final victory over the Sith on Exegol.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Lightsabers
During his time as a Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi wielded three lightsabers. His first lightsaber, which had a blue plasma blade, featured a hilt similar to that of his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. He used this weapon until Darth Maul kicked it into a deep shaft on Naboo. Subsequently, Obi-Wan constructed a new lightsaber with a similar design and blue blade.
After becoming a Jedi Master, he built a third lightsaber, also with a blue plasma blade. He used this final lightsaber until he sacrificed his life aboard the Death Star, allowing Darth Vader to strike him down so that Luke Skywalker could escape.
5. Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta girl, was a Force-sensitive ex-Jedi who helped create a network of rebel groups against the Galactic Empire after the Clone Wars. Jedi Master Plo Koon found her on her home planet Shili and brought her to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to train. When the Clone Wars started, Jedi Grand Master Yoda made her the Padawan of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker.
Ahsoka became a strong fighter before the Empire’s reign changed everything. Even though she left the Jedi Order, she kept helping those who fought for peace and justice in the galaxy long after the Republic fell.
Ahsoka Tano wielded two different pairs of lightsabers. Her first pair featured a green blade and a shorter one with a yellow-green blade. Over a year after the Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano used a pair of white lightsabers as her main weapons.
During the Clone Wars, Ahsoka wielded the first pair of lightsabers in an unorthodox reverse grip. The main lightsaber had a silver handle with black designs, and the shoto was a simpler version of the main lightsaber. Both lightsabers used kyber crystals from Ilum, enabling them to function underwater, as demonstrated during the Battle of Mon Cala. Before the Siege of Mandalore, Anakin Skywalker returned the lightsabers to Ahsoka with modifications, changing their blades to blue.
6. Leia Organa

Leia Skywalker Organa Solo was a Force-user human female from Alderaan who became a prominent politician, Jedi, and military leader. She served in the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Imperial Era and later in the New Republic and the Resistance during the New Republic Era.
Shortly after her birth to Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, she was adopted by the royal House of Organa and raised as Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, a Core Worlds planet renowned for its commitment to pacifism. As the daughter of Senator Bail Prestor Organa and Queen Breha Organa, she was the heir to the Alderaanian monarchy. Guided by the values of her adopted home, Leia dedicated her life to restoring democracy and opposing authoritarian regimes like the Galactic Empire and the First Order.
While training as a Jedi Padawan under her brother, Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa used a blue lightsaber. She constructed this weapon shortly after the Battle of Endor and used it in various sparring sessions with Luke. However, after foreseeing the death of her son at the end of her Jedi path, Leia discontinued her training and entrusted the lightsaber to Luke. He kept it until his death at the Battle of Crait. A year later, the weapon was passed to Rey during the final days of the war between the First Order and the Resistance.
7. Ben Solo

Ben Solo was a Force-sensitive human male and the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa. He was trained as a Jedi by his uncle, Luke Skywalker, but was lured to the dark side of the Force by Snoke, the Supreme Leader of the First Order. Taking the name Kylo Ren, he strived to be powerful like his grandfather, Darth Vader.
Ben Solo’s Jedi lightsaber initially produced a blue blade. Like all Jedi lightsabers, Solo’s weapon used a kyber crystal as its primary power source, complemented by a diatium power cell in the grip. The blade was activated using a sliding switch near the top of the hilt.
When Ben Solo adopted the dark side persona of Kylo Ren, he modified his lightsaber to reflect his new alignment, transforming it into a red-bladed Sith weapon. He further altered the design by adding quillon emitters, converting the standard hilt into a crossguard lightsaber.
8. Count Dooku

Count Dooku was a Force-sensitive Serennian human male and a Jedi Master during the last years of the Galactic Republic.
Shortly after the Battle of Naboo, he became disillusioned with the Jedi Order and fell to the dark side of the Force, taking the name Darth Tyranus as the Dark Lord of the Sith.
After leaving the Jedi Order, he became the Count of Serenno and Head of State of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
As the second apprentice of Darth Sidious, Dooku played an important role in his master’s plan to conquer the galaxy by leading a pan-galactic secessionist movement against the Republic and the Jedi Order, both of which he saw as corrupt.
Immersing himself in the dark side, Dooku tirelessly advanced his and his master’s plans, unaware that he was merely a pawn in Sidious’ Grand Plan. Ultimately, Dooku was betrayed by his master, who arranged for his death at the hands of Anakin Skywalker.
Count Dooku’s Blue Lightsaber
Between 82 BBY and 78 BBY, Dooku completed his training with Yoda, becoming a Jedi Knight and eventually a Jedi Master, earning a reputation as one of the greatest Jedi of his generation.
As a veteran of many galactic conflicts, he was renowned for his exceptional skills as a lightsaber duelist. He mentored Rael Averross, training him for 10 years until he achieved Knighthood.
During this time, Dooku crafted his own curved-hilt lightsaber, which emitted a blue blade and could be shortened with the press of a button. He wielded this lightsaber during the Battle of Galidraan and occasionally carried a more conventional lightsaber as well.
9. Plo Koon

Plo Koon was a Force-sensitive Jedi Master from the planet Dorin. In the last years of the Galactic Republic, he was part of the Jedi High Council.
During the Clone Wars, he was a Jedi General and led many risky missions with the 104th Battalion. To survive in different environments, he wore a special breath mask and goggles to protect his eyes.
After training his Padawan Bultar Swan to become a Jedi Knight, Plo Koon fought in the First Battle of Geonosis where almost 200 Jedi were killed, this battle started the Clone Wars. Early in the war, he went on a mission to find the Separatist warship Malevolence. After several tries, Koon and other Jedi destroyed the ship. He often worked with Ahsoka Tano whom he had discovered before the war and shared a special bond with.
Koon played important roles in the battles of Felucia, Lola Sayu and Kadavo. During the war, Ahsoka was wrongly accused of bombing the Jedi Temple and was expelled from the Jedi Order. When the real culprit was found, Koon and the Council invited her to return, but she decided to leave the Order.
In the final days of the Clone Wars, after the battles of Coruscant and Utapau, Plo Koon led the 442nd Siege Battalion in the Battle of Cato Neimoidia. After winning the battle, he was flying over the bridge cities with a group of ARC-170 starfighters, this happened during Order 66 when Jedi were killed all over the galaxy. Plo Koon was shot down and killed by his own troops.
Plo Koon wielded a blue lightsaber, which he utilized in numerous campaigns during the Clone Wars against the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
10. Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti was a Force-user Togruta female Jedi Master and one of the last members of the Jedi High Council before the Great Jedi Purge. Known for her wisdom, Ti was a proficient teacher and warrior, deeply committed to the Jedi principles.
During the Clone Wars, Ti played an important role in the battles of Geonosis, Kamino, and Coruscant as a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic.
At the start of the Clone Wars, Ti was appointed by the Jedi Council to represent the Republic on Kamino. There, she personally supervised the training and development of the clone forces, acting as both a mentor and protector to the clones while commanding the garrison stationed on the planet. Her empathy for the clones often conflicted with the Kaminoans’ view of them as mere products, leading to a strained relationship with Kaminoan authorities.
Toward the end of the war, Ti found herself involved in a conspiracy regarding a mysterious inhibitor biochip implanted in each clone. As she sought to uncover the truth with the help of rogue ARC trooper Fives, the Kaminoan leadership worked to prevent her from learning the chip’s true purpose. Despite her efforts, Ti could not save Fives from a mental breakdown induced by the Kaminoans, and his secrets died with him.
As the war continued, Ti and the Jedi Council grew increasingly worried about the elusive Dark Lord of the Sith, whom they suspected had orchestrated the war and the creation of the clone armies. Despite their dedication to uncovering the Sith Lord’s identity and intentions, they failed to identify him.
In the war’s final days, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine of the Republic revealed himself as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and initiated the Great Jedi Purge to annihilate the Jedi, using the clones’ inhibitor chips to turn the Republic’s armies against them. Shaak Ti, stationed on Coruscant, was killed by the newly anointed Sith Lord Darth Vader during his attack on the Jedi Temple.
Shaak Ti’s Blue Lightsaber
During the Clone Wars, Shaak Ti wielded a blue lightsaber from the First Battle of Geonosis to the Battle of Coruscant, where it was taken by General Grievous for his collection. The lightsaber hilt, measuring 26.60 centimeters in length and 3.30 centimeters in width, was made of copper and durasteel. Unlike many other sabers, it had a simple design with neatly interlocking segments and a few wide, flat buttons and dials.
11. Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis was a human male with the ability to use the Force, he became a Jedi Knight when the Galactic Empire was in power.
After most of the Jedi were killed, Cal hid on the planet Bracca for many years, his peaceful life changed when he had a run-in with the Inquisitorius which made him fight back against the Empire. Cal decided to reconnect with the Force and aimed to bring back the Jedi Order since the Empire’s Jedi hunters were chasing him.
Cal Kestis was a Padawan of Jedi Master Jaro Tapal and fought in the Clone Wars with him. Everything changed when the Grand Army of the Republic were ordered by Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine to carry out Order 66 turning against their Jedi officers.
The clone troopers of the 13th Battalion tried to kill Cal, but his master Tapal gave his life to protect him. After losing his master, Cal went into hiding on the planet Bracca, he worked for the Scrapper Guild until his hidden life ended when he was found by the Empire’s Inquisitors, the Second Sister and Ninth Sister.
Cal Kestis became part of the crew of the spaceship Stinger Mantis after they saved him from the Inquisitors. Cal made friends with a droid named BD-1, a former Jedi named Cere Junda, the ship’s captain Greez Dritus and a Nightsister named Merrin.
They set out to find a Jedi holocron that belong to Eno Cordova which had important information a new generation of Jedi, they got the holocron and survived an encounter with the evil Sith Lord Darth Vader, Cal decided to destroy it to keep the galaxy’s Force-sensitive children safe from the Sith. By this time, Cal was recognized as a fully trained Jedi by his new mentor.
By 9 BBY, Cal was working with Saw Gerrera and other rebels against the Empire. The mercenary Bode Akuna gave him a LW-896 blaster pistol, they went on a mission to Coruscant to steal secret Imperial information but had to make a crash landing on Koboh to escape.
While on Koboh, Kestis found a droid named ZN-A4 in an old Jedi chamber and learned about the planet Tanalorr which he wanted to use as a safe place for those being hunted by the Empire. Kestis got his old crew back together and focused on finding a way through the dangerous Koboh Abyss to reach Tanalorr for the Hidden Path network.
During this time, Kestis and Merrin started a romantic relationship. Akuna later betrayed them on Jedha causing an Imperial attack on Junda’s archive, so Kestis chased Akuna to Tanalorr and defeated him in a lightsaber combat.
Cal Kestis’ First Lightsaber
As a Padawan, Cal Kestis owned a blue lightsaber while apprenticed to Jedi General Jaro Tapal during the Clone Wars.
Kestis was honing his lightsaber combat skills under his master’s guidance when Order 66 was issued, compelling him to defend himself against his own soldiers. During his escape from the 13th Battalion aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer Albedo Brave, he lost his lightsaber in a turbolift shaft. The weapon was knocked out of his hands and plummeted to the bottom of the shaft, eventually being lost forever when the warship was destroyed. However, Tapal gave his damaged lightsaber to Kestis before dying from his injuries. Kestis escaped to the planet Bracca and later crafted a new lightsaber by combining his master’s weapon with another one from Jedha.
Cal Kestis’ Second Lightsaber
In “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order”, the character Cal Kestis creates a new lightsaber on the planet Ilum, this happens after breaking his previous lightsaber which belonged to his former master Jaro Tapal.
Kestis constructs the new lightsaber from parts of Tapal’s saber and parts from Cere Junda’s lightsaber, he powers it with two kyber crystals that inexplicably split apart when he found them in the Crystal Cave on Ilum.
The lightsaber has a double-bladed design like Tapal’s weapon, one side has dual emitter shrouds on each end with a black grip in the middle, the other side has a flared emitter with a wrapped X-pattern.
Kestis can ignite just one blade or both blades at the same time, the lightsaber can also split apart into two separate single-blade weapons allowing Kestis to use the dual-blade fighting style Jar’Kai.
In the game players can customize Cal’s lightsaber appearance and color, available blade colors are: blue, cyan, yellow, green, orange, purple, indigo and magenta.
12. Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura was a Force-sensitive Rutian Twi’lek female who became a Jedi Master and served as a Jedi General in the Republic’s army during the Clone Wars. Before the war, she learned about the Force from her teacher, Jedi Master Quinlan Vos. When the war began between the Republic and the Separatists, Secura, along with other Jedi, joined the Republic’s military. She led the clone troopers of the 327th Star Corps, with Commander Bly serving as her second-in-command.
Throughout the war, Secura fought in numerous battles across the galaxy, including Geonosis, Quell, Coruscant, and Felucia. As the conflict neared its end, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, issued Order 66, leading to a sudden purge of the Jedi by their own troops. Secura was among the first casualties, shot in the back multiple times by Bly and several other clone troopers.
Grand Master Yoda sensed Secura’s demise and the deaths of many other Jedi through the Force. He survived the purge and went into exile as the Galactic Empire took over the Republic. Secura’s death was also witnessed in a Force vision by Depa Billaba and her apprentice, Caleb Dume, on Kaller. Decades later, Secura’s voice joined those of other fallen Jedi to inspire Rey in her climactic battle against her grandfather, Darth Sidious, on Exegol.
Secura wielded a blue lightsaber during her time as a Jedi Knight and later as a Jedi Master. The lightsaber featured a durasteel hilt designed for durability on long missions, with easily accessible inner workings for field repairs. The hilt’s upper portion included a ridged grip section and controls for adjusting the blade’s length and intensity.
13. Ezra Bridger

Ezra Bridger is a young Jedi from the planet Lothal who becomes a key figure in the Rebel Alliance. Trained by Kanan Jarrus, Ezra learns to use the Force and wields a lightsaber to fight against the evil Galactic Empire.
Throughout his journey, he grows from a street-smart orphan into a courageous leader who is dedicated to helping others and fighting for freedom.
Ezra Bridger’s Blue Lightsaber
After the destruction of the Jedi Order, Ezra Bridger constructed his own lightsaber at the age of 15, four years before the Battle of Yavin. This unique weapon was a lightsaber-blaster hybrid, enabling him to participate in both lightsaber combat and firefights. The lightsaber blade was light and swift, which suited Bridger’s speed and size.
Due to his limited skill in deflecting blaster bolts with the blade, he integrated a blaster component. A handguard connected the pommel to the blaster muzzle. The blaster mode, which required the lightsaber blade to be disengaged as the powerpack could not support both functions simultaneously, fired stun blasts, providing Bridger with an escape mechanism during dangerous encounters.
Members of the Jedi Order traditionally would not have built such a weapon, and while some Jedi used blasters, they were not approved by the Jedi Council. However, Bridger, being an unconventional Jedi, prioritized survival over strict adherence to Jedi traditions.
In the era of the Galactic Empire, using a lightsaber could attract unwanted attention, so Bridger reserved it as a last resort. The blaster function allowed him to fight without revealing his identity, giving him an edge in combat scenarios that typical Jedi did not have. Its inconspicuous and utilitarian design made it less likely to be recognized as a lightsaber.
Similar to his master’s lightsaber, Ezra’s weapon had a low-power setting for practice, which produced a different shade of blue and a higher-pitched vibration. He also attached his old energy slingshot to the lightsaber’s hilt.
14. Kanan Jarrus

Kanan Jarrus was a Force-user human male Jedi Knight who survived the Jedi Purge and later became a member of the Rebel Alliance.
Born “Caleb Dume”, he trained under Jedi Master Depa Billaba until Order 66 forced him into hiding. He adopted the alias Kanan Jarrus and lived as a fugitive, eventually joining forces with Hera Syndulla and forming the Ghost crew. Kanan played an important role in training Ezra Bridger and fighting against the Empire.
Kanan Jarrus’s Blue Lightsaber
Kanan Jarrus’s blue lightsaber featured a blade length adjustment control. After he constructed it, his Jedi Master, Depa Billaba, and the droid Professor Huyang were curious about its characteristics but decided to trust the guidance of the Force.
During the Galactic Empire’s reign, Jarrus kept his lightsaber hidden. Instead of hanging it on his belt by the ring, which would have easily identified him as a Jedi, he stored it in two separate pieces. The main body and grip of the hilt were kept at the small of his back, while the emitter shroud was on his left side. To assemble it, Jarrus just had to insert the emitter part into the main body and twist it to lock them together.
The lightsaber also had a low-power setting for practice, which produced a different shade of blue and a higher-pitched vibration to avoid injuring sparring partners.
15. Ki-Adi-Mundi

Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Force-user Cerean male and part of the Jedi High Council during the last years of the Galactic Republic.
After the Clone Wars began with the First Battle of Geonosis, Mundi became a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic. He led clone troopers in many battles against the Separatist forces, including the second campaign on Geonosis.
In 19 BBY, during the final year of the war, Mundi led the Republic’s invasion of Mygeeto with the 21st Nova Corps. During this invasion, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, who was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious, ordered the clone soldiers to execute their Jedi leaders under Order 66. This led to Mundi’s death, along with most of the Jedi Order.
During his tenure as a Jedi Knight, Ki-Adi-Mundi wielded a purple lightsaber. After being promoted to Jedi Master, his lightsaber featured a blue blade, which he used throughout the Clone Wars until his death on Mygeeto.
Despite Mundi’s death, his lightsaber survived for many years and was eventually owned by the collector Dok-Ondar, who told some of its history to a sergeant of the First Order.
